Assistant Management Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity to join our wider Commercial Finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant located in either Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

The key focus of the role is to provide financial information for the preparation of month end reports, posting of journal entries, reconciliations, commentary on variances and divisional reporting, monitoring, and following up on cost variances, etc.

The Assistant Management Accountant will work closely with and help the Senior Management Accountant and the wider team.

What you'll do

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will be a key member of our Commercial Finance Team and your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with senior managers who are operationally focused and provide financial advice that is independent, professional, and proactively targeted to risks and opportunities.
  • Developing effective business partnerships which demonstrate a clear understanding of the business, key cost drivers, business, and financial performance indicators.
  • Continuously identifying and implementing opportunities for improving, integrating, and streamlining processes.
  • Assisting managers with the preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasts
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, and ad hoc financial reports, and variance analysis.

To be successful you will possess a Commerce Degree with an attitude of continuously learning and improving. Challenging the status quo is a desired attribute. You will be highly organised and collaborative with a good grasp on identifying weaknesses and improvement opportunities and possess the ability to deal with conflicting demands. Ideally, you would have experience using ERP Software such as SAP or Oracle, however, on the job software training will be provided to bridge any knowledge gaps.
